THEO 556 - German Pentecostalism


The course traces the development of the Pentecostal Church in Germany throughout the Twentieth Century and beyond.  The contribution of Jonathan Paul as the pioneer of German Pentecostalism will be studied along with the scurrilous rejection of Paul and the Pentecostals by German Evangelicals. Further, the distinct nature of early German Pentecostal beliefs and practices as compared to the U.S.A. will be outlined, as will the subsequent changes in the German Pentecostal groups after World War II due to trans-Atlantic influences.
