MUSG 513 - Functional Skills for the Piano Major
Exploration and practice of functional skills required of the professional keyboardist. The course content includes advanced chord progressions and improvisation, hymn playing with modulation, open score reading and successful rehearsal skills, melody/bassline harmonization, pop symbol realization and analysis, figured bass, and derivative composition.
Prerequisites
Admission to Master of Music Performance, Piano degree program, or permission of instructor.
