BIOL 331 - Microbiology


An introduction to the principles and techniques for the study and identification of bacteria and other microorganisms.  The character of microbial organisms and infectious diseases are included with emphasis on modes of transmission, diagnosis, treatment, management and control.  Laboratory work consists of techniques in isolation, culturing, staining, and identification.  Requires co-requisite enrollment in BIOL 331L.

Prerequisites
BIOL 303 or CHEM 321
