MATH 111 - College Algebra The real number system; relations and functions; algebraic functions; linear, quadratic and higher degree equations; complex numbers; graphing; systems of equations; and applications through the use of word problems. Intended primarily for students majoring in Education, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Accounting.
Prerequisites ACT mathematics score of 20 or SAT equivalent, or completion of MATH-099 with a grade of C or better, or placement by the math placement exam.
Credit Hours: 3 Notes Students entering this course with an ACT mathematics score of 21, 22, or 23 must also enroll in a two-week lab sequence, meeting for one hour per day. Attendance is required at all sessions.
