BUSN 514 - Organizational Theory This course will examine the characteristics of organizations as systems; focusing on the goals that organizations pursue and the competitive strategies used to reach those goals. It will explore the basic concepts of organizational structure, the environments, culture, change, and decision processes. It will also study the nature of conflict and use of power and political tactics to reduce conflict. Each of these organizational elements will be viewed in the context of increasing management effectiveness and efficiency and adapting organizations to modern, changing environments.
