Minor Requirements

The minor in Coaching consists of 18 hours (13 hours of required courses, and 5 hours of electives). Students should note that HSCI-344 (required) and HSCI-291 (elective option) have a pre-requisite of either BIOL-103 or HSCI-292/293, and these pre-requisites must be completed before enrolling in either HSCI-344 or HSCI-291.

PHED 320 - Theories and Techniques of Coaching Credit Hours: 3
PHED 350 - The Psychology of Sport and Human Performance Credit Hours: 3
PHED 440 - Motor Learning & Development Credit Hours: 3
PHED 460 - Coaching Internship Credit Hours: 1

Additional Requirements

The remaining 5 hours must be chosen from the following:

HSCI 291 - Principles of Nutrition Credit Hours: 3
HLTH 353 - Safety and First Aid Credit Hours: 2
Or
HSCI 353 - Safety and First Aid Credit Hours: 2
EXSC 365 - Kinesiology Credit Hours: 3
OR
