MAFT 719 - Medical Family Therapy in Pediatrics
This course is an introduction to the field of medical family therapy and its specialized application within pediatric care. Theoretical frameworks and clinical approaches utilized in understanding, assessing, and intervening with families encountering a range of pediatric medical and developmental challenges will be emphasized. Ethical considerations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural competence will also be explored. Community based approaches to mental health access such as embedded pediatric services and mental health consultation will also be explored.
