GNST 250 - Individually Arranged Cross-Cultural Experience/ Group Cross-Cultural Experience This course requires participation in an individually arranged cross-cultural experience totaling at least 45 hours of in-depth, immersive, interpersonal interaction with a culture different from one’s own. Students must spend a minimum of seven full days in the singular culture of study, not including travel time. Many students fulfill this requirement by living or studying abroad.
Coursework is completed independently under the guidance of the Global Perspectives Department and the assigned faculty member overseeing the experience/course.
Applications for Individually Arranged Cross-Cultural Experiences must be submitted by the deadlines posted on the Global Perspectives website and must receive approval from the Global Perspectives Committee in order to be eligable for credit.
Students wishing to pursue an individually arranged study must first complete the prerequisite, GNST-200, before enrolling in GNST-250 for the semester in which they plan to complete their individually arranged experience.
